Under the Yum Yum Tree is a 1963 American film that was adapted for the screen from a hit Broadway play by Lawrence Roman. Jack Lemmon stars as Mr. Hogan, a landlord of a California apartment building. Hogan loves women, and he makes sure that his apartments are filled with sexy, young single ladies for him to seduce. He has turned his own apartment into a bachelor pad, complete with a cocktail bar and a switch operated fireplace. Hogan has been seducing Irene (Edie Adams), a divorcee who decides that she's done with her affair with Hogan and moves out of the building. Her cousin Robin (Carol Lynley) then moves in and unbeknownst to Mr. Hogan, Robin's boyfriend David (Dean Jones) does as well. Hogan then attempts to convince Robin that David isn't right for her and that she should save herself. Irene then makes it her mission to ensure Hogan doesn't split up the happy couple. This over the top farce earned Lemmon a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor.moreless
