Universal Remote

Movie Summary

Director:
Gary Hardwick
Released:
2007
Rating:
R

Universal Remote is the 2007 comedy from writer-director Gary Hardwick (The Brothers, Deliver Us From Eva). Best friends Leroy (Howard Alonzo, Dance Flick, Island of Fantasy) and Bubba (Devin McGinn, Carpool Guy, Nina and the Mystery of the Secret Room, The Last Lovecraft: Relic of Cthulhu) blunder into possession of a remote control that serves one better than letting them keep their seat to turn on the set. Indeed, the magical device does what commercials always promise and puts users, in this case the duo, into the action of the tube land. They go tumbling into an un-PC TV land where the channel keeps changing and the shows get more and more bizarre. Their exploits also allow co-star Charles Q. Murphy of Chappelle's Show license to send up a bevy of television's most known traditions and beloved touchstones.
