Up in Smoke is yet another carefree comedy installment of Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong. Released in 1978 the story follows two friends and band mates, Anthony Stoner (Chong) and Pedro de Pacas (Marin), on their epic stoner journey to winning a battle of the bands competition. Stoner is a jobless son of a millionaire who is told to get a job or be forced to join the military. Pacas is a pot head with a love for his ridiculous 1964 Chevy Impala. After crashing his VW, Stoner is picked up by Pacas and they smoke a massive joint. High as kites they get into trouble with the police, get deported to Mexico, and sneak back into the states by driving a truck painted with marijuana. Hunted by FBI agents they make their way across the border two pick up two druggie women who convince them to enter the battle of the bands contest. When their truck catches fire outside the establishment, rendering everyone inside wasted, they manage to slip past the FBI and win the contest. Up in Smoke is considered to be on of Cheech & Chong's best comedy film.moreless
