Movie Summary

Valley Girl: Special Edition is an oddball romantic comedy about an unexpected relationship that blossoms in Los Angeles between a boy from Hollywood and a girl from the valley. When Randy (Nicolas Cage) sees Julie (Deborah Foreman) at a party, he can't keep his eyes off her. The two young kids hit it off, and before long sparks are flying. But there's only one problem. Randy is a punk rocker from Hollywood that doesn't fit in at all, and Deborah is a well to do girl from the valley that's as typical as they come. Their budding romance starts off with a bang, with Randy taking his new love on a cruise to see the seedy underbelly of Los Angeles, even bringing along her terrified friends for their ride. But soon the trials of high school life and pressure from her less daring friends get to Deborah, and she opts to go to the prom with her good looking, yet conceited and selfish ex boyfriend Tommy (Michael Bowen). But Randy is not ready to give up so easily, and makes one last dash to find a way into his valley girl's heart for good. Martha Coolidge this charming satire that pokes fun at every possible aspect of 80s life.moreless
