Veronica Guerin is a 2003 drama about the Irish journalist who was murdered after investigating the drug scene in Dublin. For years, Veronica Guerin (Cate Blanchett) has been a crime reporter for one of Dublin's top newspapers. As she slowly becomes aware of the growing influence of the drug trade in the city, she decides to find out how it works and who is behind it. She begins by interviewing drug users but quickly finds her way to the major dealers and suppliers for Dublin's drug trade. As she does so, her life and the lives of her family members are increasingly threatened. Despite that, she forges ahead with her story. Even when she is badly beaten up by a drug lord, she persists in her efforts to expose the criminal underworld that she believes is ruining the lives of thousands of Dubliners. Will Veronica continue to investigate these shadowy figures even if it means losing her life?
