Village of the Damned is the 1995 remake of the classic George Sanders science fiction chiller, directed by modern master of horror John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing, Escape from New York, The Fog, They Live, In the Mouth of Madness). A town gathering is mysteriously interrupted by a strange, whispery cloud which passes over the entire place, seemingly knocking everybody unconscious ' save for those lucky to be out of town at the time of the incident; people like town doctor Alan Chaffee (Christopher Reeve, Superman, Somewhere in Time) who returns to find a barrier closing off his beloved town, overseen by epidemiologist Dr. Susan Verner (Kirstie Alley, Look Who's Talking). Later, when the denizens recover consciousness, it is discovered that all the women have mysteriously become pregnant at the same time. They later give birth to identically blonde-haired, cherubic angels ' angels with filthy souls. It is discovered by Chaffee and Verner that the children are the vanguard of an alien invasionary force that has insidiously impregnated Earth women to be host to their monstrous progeny.moreless
