Visions of Suffering is a 2006 Russian horror movie written and directed by Andrey Iskanov. This indie movie is a chiller full of psychedelic visuals, special effects and nightmare hallucinations. It explores the netherworld between dreams and reality, and looks at the bad trip of a drug-induced vision. The premise is about a man (Alexander Schevchenko) who is being stalked in his sleep by demons. These creatures appear when it rains and try to break free from dreamland. One day the man has a drug-induced hallucination that allows them to escape and bring him into their nightmare reality. There he must try to break free of the horrors, the creatures, and the evil dreams of this nightmare realm. Other actors include Igor Anikin, Aaron Neville, Alexandra Batrumova, Yukari Fujimoto and Andrey Iskanov. This wild tale has very little dialog and is extremely visual. The film features wild camera angles, wiggling textures, changing letterboxing shapes, weird sounds, lots of gore and intense visual effects.moreless
