Vital is a Japanese drama film that centers on ank amnesia patient Hiroshi (Tadanobu Asano). Upon waking up in the hospital, Hiroshi learns that he was in a car accident that caused him to lose his memory and killed his girlfriend, Ryoko (Nami Tsukamoto). He vows to remember his past and in his investigation, he learns that he was in medical school. He decides to continue on with his studies, giving him something to look forward to. Meanwhile, Hiroshi begins to spend time with Ikumi (Kiki), a medical school classmate who has feelings for him. He is not sure he wants to get involved with Ikumi, as he is attempting to regain his memory and focus on his studies. During one of Hiroshi's classes that involves the dissection of human bodies, an event occurs that starts to bring back some memories, mainly of Ryoko. These thoughts cause Ikumi to become jealous of the devotion Hiroshi still has for Ryoko. Join Hiroshi as he goes on a journey to remember the person he was.moreless
