War of the Gargantuas is a 1966 Japanese giant monster film and the sequel to 1965's Frankenstein Conquers the World. The film focused on two hairy giants called Gargantuas, both descended from Frankenstein's monster. While they're technically brothers, the two monsters grew up in very different ways and have a different understanding of humanity. Gaira, the green monster from the sea, knows only the wild and the quest for survival. He's a tyrant that viciously preys on humans. Sanda, however, was raised in captivity by peaceful humans. He's a brown monster from the mountains and he's kind to the humans that surround him. When the two finally meet, Sanda is excited to have another Gargantua around, and he welcomes his brother to the mainland. However, Sanda quickly realizes Gaira is feral and cruel, feasting upon the defenseless humans. Sanda will have to fight the vicious beast to save the humans who have raised him. In War of the Gargantuas, a battle between good and evil rages across Japan, but the struggle alone might destroy the great cities.moreless
