Wei Te-Sheng's epic film WARRIORS OF THE RAINBOW: SEEDIQ BALE retells an extraordinary episode from 20th-century history, in which a Japanese colony inhabited an island, subduing the aboriginal tribes who first settled the land. Seediq leader Mouna Rudo staged a rebellion against the Japanese colonial masters, but the noble uprising was soon crushed by the Japanese army.
