Warriors of Virtue is a 1999 action fantasy film. A disability prevents high school student Ryan Jeffers (Mario Yedidia) from playing with the other children in his school. Instead of playing sports, Ryan reads comic books and dreams of far off lands. One day Ryan is hanging out at Ming's, a restaurant that he frequents. Ming (Dennis Dun) sees Ryan and offers him help from a manuscript of Tao. Ryan, now back at school, is caught checking out the quarterback's girlfriend and is invited to go through an initiation of crossing a river on a poorly made bridge. Ryan does it, but is swept away into the water. After being tossed around and knocked unconscious by the water, Ryan wakes up in an enormous forrest. In this forrest, Ryan is attacked and eventually saved by friends of the Warriors of Virtue. The Warriors are kangaroo like creatures who each represent a different tenet of the elements. It turns out that the manuscript that Ryan got from Ming is a thing of legend in the Warrior's culture. After losing it in the initial attack, Ryan and the Warriors of Virtue must retrieve it.moreless
