Movie Summary

Zack Snyder

The film is set in an alternate history 1985, during the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union, against a background of increasing fear of nuclear war. This is an alternate history in which superheroes have been a permanent fixture of crime fighting in the United States. The film centers on the Watchmen, a team of superheroes. After the group is outlawed by Congress, its renegade member Rorschach discovers a plot to kill the remaining Watchmen. After failing to convince his fellow superheroes, Nite Owl II, Dr Manhattan and Silk Spectre II, Rorschach is framed for the murder of Moloch. Finally, Rorschach is able to lead the Watchmen in an attempt to uncover the emerging conspiracy.
