We are Marshall is an inspiring film about the loss and resurrection of the Marshall College football team of 1970. The drama shows how the small town of Marshall copes with a horrific plane crash that takes the lives of the entire football team including five of the six coaches. Devastated the dean of the college wants to suspend the football program indefinitely, but a young coach, Jack Lengyel (Matthew McConaughey), convinces the dean to let him rebuild the team. With the help of the only surviving coach, Red Dawson (Matthew Fox), the two work together to rebuild the team and reconstruct the hope of an entire town. Through hardship, resistance, and opposition the team pulls together with more heart than anyone could of expected. Following their dreams and the inspiration within the take themselves all the way and in the process restore the spirits of the fallen Marshall team. This 2006 film is a truly heartwarming and moving sports drama.moreless
