We're Not Married is the 1952 comedy written by Dwight Taylor and directed by Edmund Goulding. It is the story of Judge Melvin Bush (Victor Moore) who unknowingly marries several couples before his appointment is official, leaving them legally single. Years later, he informs each of the couples that they are not, technically, married yet. The comedy abounds as each couple reacts to the news. Annabel Jones Norris (Marilyn Monroe), a beauty queen, and young husband Jeff Norris (Davis Wayne) doubt their love. Radio performers Ramona (Ginger Rogers) and Steven Gladwyn (Fred Allen) bicker bitterly when off the air. Hector (Paul Douglass) and Katie (Eve Arden) Woodruff realize they don't know how to talk to each other anymore. Freddie (Louis Calbern), a rich old man, might escape Eve ( Zsa Zsa Gabor), a young gold digger out to gain his fortune. Willie Fisher (Eddie Bracken) worries about his pregnant bride Patsy (Mitzi Gaynor), who he learns is not his wife only days before shipping out. Each couple must ultimately decide their own fate and what the future holds for their relationship.moreless
