Were the World Mine gives Timothy (Tanner Cohen) the chance to have others walk in his shoes. The openly gay student is persecuted by his private high school's rugby team and his mother, Donna (Judy McLane), is struggling to make ends meet and understand her son's sexuality. Timothy is cast as Puck, the clever and mischievous sprite, in the school's production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. While reviewing his lines, he comes across the recipe for a love potion, which he manages to concoct. He uses the potion to attract the boy of his dreams, Rugby team captain Jonathon (Nathaniel David Becker). But the formula gets loose and the campus and community is thrown for a loop as formerly heterosexual individuals find themselves falling for their same-sex friends and co-workers. The musical comedy of errors is based on director Tom Gustafson's award-winning short film Fairies. The 2008 feature presentation won the Audience Award at the 2008 Torino International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
