Werewolf of London is a 1935 Universal Pictures movie classic in the horror genre, set appropriately in London, England. After suffering what turns out to be a werewolf attack while in pursuit of a rare Tibetan plant, botanist Wilfred Glendon (Henry Hull) starts to display the telltale signs of lycanthropy. His only hope for a remedy lies in the mysterious flower his ill-fated search in Tibet yielded. Unfortunately, another botanist, the mysterious Dr. Yogami (Warner Oland) foils Glendon's attempt at a cure by stealing the blooming plant. Luckily, the infected botanist's wife Lisa (Valerie Hobson) misses her husband's frightening transformation while visiting an aunt. The trip, however, provides a chance for Lisa to reunite with former flame Paul Ames (Lester Matthews), while supplying another plot conflict in Werewolf of London. Jack Pierce, the makeup artist famously responsible for transforming actor Lon Chaney, Jr. into The Wolfman in the 1941 classic, worked on this earlier film.
