West of Brooklyn tells the story of Sebi (Ronnie Marmo), a young Brooklynite man of Italian descent, who secretly dreams of becoming a famous beat poet. Sebi's off-beat friends have recently moved to Los Angeles, and when his mother dies, he chooses to follow them to the other side of the country. Sebi finds that he and his group are out of place in their new city. But Sebi continues to search for a way to belong, and for a way to reconcile his aspirations with his family obligations. He meets an eclectic group of characters along the way, such as Maddy (Natalia Livingston), a well-to-do girl from Beverly Hills, and Gaetano D'Amico (Joe Mantegna), a celebrated poet originally from the Bronx. These friends help guide Sebi to self discovery in this funny yet touching film. The movie also features Robert Costanzo, James Madio, Balthazar Getty, Mel Rodriguez, Louis Vanaria and Liz Torres.
