Whaledreamers is a majestic 2006 documentary about tribes in Australia, New Zealand, and South America and the special relationship they have with whales. With narration and commentary from stars like Pierce Brosnan, Julian Lennon, and Geoffrey Rush, the film shows panoramic views of these underwater mammals in their migratory voyages. As the seascapes pass before the cameras, the narrators describe legends about the whales from various cultures of the world. Many of the stories have survived by oral tradition from so far back in history that their origins have been lost. The movie pleads with the audience to seek to preserve the beauty and sanctity of nature against exploitation and pollution. However, the famous commentators' advice pales in comparison to the actual work of native tribes. The film chronicles the way a tribe in Colombia brought an end to whale hunting near their home.
