What's New Pussycat?, directed by Clive Donner, concerns the struggle of womanizer Michael James as he tries to remain faithful to his beloved fiancée Carol. He does try, really, but it seems that every woman he meets, whether it is the parachutist falling onto his car, the neurotic American he meets at a strip club, or even a girl on the street corner, seems to fall in love with him - even if he wasn't trying! When he turns to psychoanalyst Dr. Fassbender for help, he finds that the very married Dr. Fassbender is out stalking one of his prettier patients, Renee, who in turn wants Michael. In a bid to be romantic, Michael and Carol take a weekend away at the beautiful Chanteau Chantelle to patch up all the misunderstandings in their engagement. A good idea; that is until Fassbender shows up in the hope of bedding Renee, who thinks of the weekend as a chance to get Michael - and then all these others arrive... This crazy comedy was Woody Allen's debut in films and was, for a while, the most lucrative comedy movie ever made.
