    • TRIVIA (2)

      • The "thrill killing" committed by Adelle and Helen's two sons bears a strong similarity to the notorious murder of young Robert Franks by Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb in Chicago in 1924, which has been the basis of at least three films. However, where the two heroines of this film are from a lower middle-class or working-class background, Leopold and Loeb were the sons of millionaires.

      • The character of "Sister Alma", played by Agnes Moorehead, seems to be an obvious caricature of Aimee Semple Macpherson, the famous 1920s evangelist.
