When in Rome is a romantic comedy from 2010 that was written by Mark Steven Johnson, David Diamond, and David Weissman, and directed by Mark Steven Johnson. Beth (Kristen Bell), a successful art museum curator, flies to Rome to take part in her sister Joan's (Alexis Dziena) wedding to Umberto (Luca Calvani). Although Beth thinks her sister's wedding is impulsive, she does her best to have a good time. At the wedding, she meets Umberto's friend, Nick (Josh Duhamel), and the two immediately hit it off. Just as Beth is able to talk herself into making a move on Nick, she sees him with another woman and flees the wedding in a drunk stupor. She plucks five coins from a nearby fountain of love, and flies back to New York believing that she is not destined to find love. In New York, Beth is suddenly stalked by four men, Lance (Jon Heder), Gale (Dax Shepard), Antonio (Will Arnet), and Al Russo (Danny DeVito), who all claim to be in love with her. Despite the actions of these strangers, Beth begins to date Nick, who seems genuinely interested in her and claims that the woman in Rome was just Umberto's crazy relative. When Beth realizes that she has to give the coins she took from the fountain of love back to the men to get them to fall out of love with her, she goes to great lengths to collect the men and give them back what's theirs. Will Nick's feelings for her turn out to be real or simply caused by Rome's fountain of love?moreless
