Despite their parents' mutual disapproval Ted and Arline get married. For a short time after their wedding everything is going great until Ted is drafted into the Army and shipped overseas. Ted and Arline spend several months apart while Ted is fighting on the front lines and Arline is adjusting to life without him. When it is time to return home, Ted reflects on his life and wonders about his future. As soon as Ted arrives home, his wife and their families realize he is different.
