Where the Heart Is is a dramatic film starring Natalie Portman and Ashley Judd. When 17 year old Tennessee native Novalee Nation (Natalie Portman) suddenly becomes pregnant with her boyfriend Willy Jack Pickens (Dylan Bruno), they make a break for it and run away to California. Half way during their trip, however, Willy gets cold feet and leaves Novalee stranded in a shopping plaza somewhere in the middle of Sequoyah, Oklahoma. With approximately 5 dollars to her name, Novalee has no other choice but to stay inside a Walmart for the night before she can figure out her next move. But her baby is well on it's way, and growing impatient. That very night, as she rests upon a model bed in the bedding department, Novalee goes into labor and delivers her baby. Totally destitute and without much direction, Novalee continues on her journey with baby in hand, and is fortunate to meet a very generous Sister Husband (Stockard Channing) and Lexie Coop (Ashley Judd) who help her get her feet on the ground. Roger Ebert stated that "Portman is quite an actress". Where the Heart Is is a must see!moreless
