White Water Summer

Movie Summary

Director:
Jeff Bleckner
Released:
2010
Rating:
PG
White Water Summer is a dramatic film directed by Jeff Bleckner that chronicles Alan’s (Sean Astin) camping trip a few years earlier, a trip that changed from a typical hike into a disaster-ridden adventure. Technical, inverted, and somewhat stubborn, city boy Alan had wanted to spend his summer working on his transistor radio and listening to the baseball games. Instead, his parents sign him up for a wilderness experience with a few other boys, whose enthusiasm runs the gamut from slightly interested to blindly inspired, and an experienced guide. Vic (Kevin Bacon) is relentless in his efforts to teach these city boys, including the Vic-wannabe Chris (Matt Adler), tough guy George (K.C. Martel), and subdued Mitch (Jonathan Ward), lessons on survival, responsibility, and character. Unfortunately, the more scientific Alan butts heads with Vic, making each of his lessons escalate to the point of no return. Pushed to the limits, can Alan, Vic, and the others make it down the mountain with everyone alive?moreless
