Who Are the DeBolts? And Where Did They Get Nineteen Kids? is a documentary about an American couple who have 19 children, many of which are adopted. The DeBolt family is made up of Dorothy and Bob DeBolt, Dorothy's five biological children, Bob's biological daughter and their 14 adopted children. The film follows the DeBolts as they travel from their home in California to New York where they plan to adopt their 19th child named J.R. who is a blind and physically disabled teen. The film shows the struggles that the DeBolts face having so many special needs children. The stories of each child are told and how the family accomplishes everyday tasks. One interesting fact about the film is that the film crew stayed with the family for 2 and 1/2 years when filming the movie. The documentary is heartwarming tale of human kindness and caring for others no matter how hard it is.
