Widows' Peak is an Irish film about the mysterious antics of a group of widowed women. The film was directed by legendary filmmaker John Irvin in 1994 and stars Mia Farrow, Joan Plowright, and Natasha Richardson. Kilshannon is a small Irish town comprised mostly of widowed women. Mrs. Counihan (Joan Plowright), a dictatorial and demanding woman, heads an austere coterie of widowed women. She sets the rules and ensures everyone abides by them. The only non-widow in town is a mysterious woman named Miss O'Hare (Mia Farrow). She resides inside a large house, which she barely ever leaves. She seems to be hiding a dark secret. One day a blithe yet blunt young woman named Edwina Broome (Natasha Richardson) moves to town and interferes with the tight-knit group of women. Strangely, she begins to harass Miss O'Hare for seemingly no reason at all. Mrs. Counihan's son Godfrey (Adrian Dunbar) eventually proposes to the bad-tempered Edwina. Everyone's motives are revealed in a sudden twist of events. Be sure to catch Widows' Peak!moreless
