Wild Bill is a film based on the true life of the legendary lawman of the Old West, Wild Bill Hickok (Jeff Bridges). After years of serving as a daring and courageous lawman across America, Wild Bill returns to the gold town of Deadwood, South Dakota, to serve as sheriff. In Deadwood, Wild Bill is confronted with the ghosts of his past - not the least of which is his former lover, Calamity Jane (Ellen Barkin). In his last days in Deadwood, Wild Bill contends with his failing reflexes and eyesight and his own weakness for gambling. Jack McCall (David Arquette), the son of a woman who had been cheated and abandoned by Wild Bill, uses these weaknesses in his quest for revenge. McCall still faces Wild Bill's indomitable spirit, still strong even in his old age. John Hurt and Diane Lane also appear. Directed by Walter Hill and released in 1995.
