Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken is a dramatic film about the true life story of a woman's courage to not let a disability prevent her from doing what she loves. Sonora Webster (Gabrielle Anwar) grows up as an orphan and when her aunt threatens to send her to an orphanage, she runs away. She stumbles upon a horse diving show and instantly becomes determined to join the show. The head of the show, Doc Carver (Cliff Robertson) laughs and tells her that she is too young. Her determination, natural ability with the horses and her refusal to leave coerce Doc to allow Sonora to travel with them as a stable hand. When she is old enough, Doc allows her to ride the diving horses and become part of the show. In 1931, at the Steel Pier in Atlantic City, Sonora's horse Red Lips is spooked by the crowd and falls into the pool. Although Sonora survives the fall, it has damaged her eyes and caused her to be permanently blind. She must struggle to learn how to use her other senses if she ever hopes to ride again.moreless
