Wildcats is a spirited sports-comedy telling the story of Molly McGrath (Goldie Hawn) and her wish to follow in her father's footsteps and coach a football team. Leaving behind a job as the track coach of the popular Prescott High School, McGrath takes reins of the football team at the inner-city Central High. Finding a disorganized group of ragtag athletes with no direction or leadership, McGrath begins coaching the team with an unbridled optimism. Soon though, acts racism and prejudice unfold which are targeted towards her and her team. Now filled with doubt, McGrath is forced to ask herself if pursuing her dream was worth leaving a comfortable job at an affluent school. Just as the odds are stacked so heavily against them, an unconquerable spirit rises in McGrath, driving her and her players forward. With no one to believe in them but themselves, the underdog Wildcats begin an unlikely march towards the city championship
