Movie Summary

Director:
Chris Roberts
Released:
1999
Rating:
PG-13

Wing Commander: The Movie is one the most interesting video games ever brought to the big screen. Interesting, because although it failed to break even at the box office, it did attract at least one well-known Hollywood name as an actor. It is also interesting because it managed to expand upon the story within the game without changing too much of the potential plot. The villains in the movie have an altered appearance compared to what they look like in the video game, as is the appearance of the enemies turned allies of the Terran Confederation, the Pilgrims. The overall story tracks several fighter pilots as they embark on a desperate endeavor to stop the Kilrathi from destroying the Earth. Among the pilots is Christopher Blair (Freddie Prinze Jr.), a Pilgrim that has special powers that aid him in flying a fighter. All action in the film was shot in Luxembourg and the soundtrack received great reviews for its authenticity from game players.
