Witchcraft is a classic 1960s horror film about an age old feud between two families that turns into an all out war. In a remote English village on the outskirts of London, the families of the Laniers and the Whitlocks have engaged in a bitter feud for generations. Owners of neighboring estates, the Laniers always disapproved of the Satanist Whitlocks, even burning matriarch Vanessa Whitlock (Yvette Rees) at the stake some 300 years ago for practicing the art of witchcraft. Since that fateful act drew their families into conflict, the Laniers have slowly been taking over the Whitlocks' land, but Morgan Whitlock (Lon Chaney), the aging family patriarch, has vowed to take revenge. However, in the midst of these two families' struggles with one another, the young couple of Amy Whitlock (Diane Claire) and Bill Lanier (Jack Hedley) have announced their plans to be married, much to the disapproval of their respective clans. But when Bill Lanier (Jack Hedley) heads up a construction project to bulldoze the local graveyard where Vanessa's body lay, she is resurrected and sets out to seek revenge on the Laniers. With the familial dispute now a total battle, there's no telling how this tale of feuding families will end. Don Sharp directs this classic atmospheric installment from Hammer films.moreless
