X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a superhero action film directed by Gavin Hood based on Marvel Comics' infamous and deadly X-Man, Wolverine, which centers on the evolution of the clawed mutant from a worn soldier working for Team X to the adamantium-laced powerhouse, whose healing factor and aggression makes him a near unstoppable fighting machine. Born mid-1800s in Canada, Logan (Hugh Jackman), or rather James Howlett, left his home with his newly discovered half-brother Victor Creed (Liev Schreiber) to spend the next century going from war to war, from the American Civil War to the World Wars to the Vietnam War, relying upon their healing factors and skill at fighting to pass the time. When Victor's actions lead them to face the firing squad, the two are recruited by Major William Stryker (Danny Huston) to join a mutant powered taskforce. Tired of the bloodshed and the disregard for life, Logan abandons his old life to live in Canada with his girlfriend Kayla Silverfox (Lynn Collins). It seems that peace isn't a natural part of Logan's life as his past comes roaring back with a vengeance, taking Kayla and his control with it. Pulled into the Weapon X program, Logan becomes what comic fans know and love today while Stryker learns just what happens when you rile up a wild Wolverine. X-Men Origins: Wolverine also highlights a few other fan favorites such as Gambit (Taylor Kitsch), Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds), the Blob (Kevin Durand), and Agent Zero (Daniel Henney).
