XXX is an action film made in 2002 by Rob Cohen, who produced the hit The Fast and the Furious the year before. The film is the first in a series of three movies. XXX, or "Triple X", follows the legendary Xander Cage, "X" (Vin Diesel) as he fights crime, injustice, and every antagonizing force in Eastern Europe. Xander Cage is a triple threat: he is a sports extremist, stuntman, and anarchist - with a rotten attitude. He lands in jail one day, thanks to his reckless behavior. While he is in jail, he is approached by the National Security Agency (NSA) with a proposition for work. They are under the suspicion an anarchist regime from Easter Europe, Anarchy 99, are planning biochemical warfare against the United States. Without much further ado, X travels to Eastern Europe where he hunts the leader of Agency 99, a ruthless man named Yorgi (Martin Csokas). But things get hairy when X falls for none other than Yorgi's assistant, Yelena (Asia Argento). Is X as invincible as once believed?
