Yellowbeard is a comedy about pirates that was originally released on June 24, 1983. It starred Monty Python alumni Graham Chapman, John Cleese and Eric Idle along with Peter Boyle, Cheech Marin, Tommy Chong, Madeline Kahn, James Mason and Marty Feldman in his final screen appearance. The plot concerns a pirate named Yellowbeard (Chapman) who breaks out of jail in an effort to secure the fortune he hid prior to being imprisoned. When he returns to his ex-wife's pub to find the map he left, he learns that it has burned. She tells him, however, that the map was also tattooed on his son's head so Yellowbeard brings his law-abiding son with him. What he doesn't realize is that the government actually allowed him to escape so that he would lead them to his treasure. Yellowbeard is a madcap romp very much in the spirit of the Monty Python films that follows the two groups as they both race to find the treasure before the other can secure it.
