Yesterday Was a Lie is a sci-fi noir which follows Hoyle (Kipleigh Brown), a female investigator, on her quest to solve a mystery in a world that makes no sense. Hoyle is a sharp detective with a weakness for liquor who finds herself on the trail of a mysterious reclusive and powerful genius. As she starts to uncover a series of cosmological secrets to find the man, Hoyle's life takes a weird turn, becoming fragmented and surreal. The only people she is able to trust as she tries to unravel the mystery and her life changes is her partner (Mik Scriba) and a lounge singer (Chase Masterson). Boyle finds herself stalked by a mysterious figure (Peter Mayhew) who may have the power to distort reality. Her story is one filled with plot twists all the way up into the end. Yesterday Was a Lie is filmed in black and white to enhance the noir feel.
