Yodelin' Kid from Pine Ridge is a vintage western, from 1937, written by Jack Netteford for Gene Autry. The unique Western is set in Georgia and was originally violent enough that the Federal Communications Commission required cuts to make it more appropriate. Gene (Gene Autry) is the son of an important Georgia cattleman, Colonel Millhouse (Smiley Burnette) who has fallen victim to a band of cattle rustlers. The rustlers, lead by Len Parker (LeRoy Mason), blame the missing cattle on Turpintiner Zeke (Guy Wilkerson). He goads the area cattlemen to go after the turpentine's trees in revenge, but Gene is not convinced the turpentiners are responsible. When he goes looking for the cattle, he finds trouble, forcing him to prove his own innocence and demand justice be served. Along the way he makes some interesting friends, including the daughter of his enemy, Milly (Betty Bronson), and a troop of Wild West Variety Show performers.
