Young Cesar is a gritty and harsh urban drama directed by Sheldon Candis. The film tells the story of an incarcerated father Ali Dean (Clifton Powell) that has left behind his two sons, Tariq (Sam Sarpong) and Cesar (Dominic Daniel). Ali must watch helplessly from behind bars as his young sons struggle to survive the perils of the rough streets that they grow up in. Tariq shows promise as an emerging boxer, but Cesar ends up on the wrong side of the law becoming involved in the drug trade. Ali's failure as a father helps fuel an endless cycle of violence and poor decision-making that threatens the young Cesar's future. Though Ali's release date approaches it maybe too late to save his wayward son Cesar from his life of crime. As Cesar delves deeper into his delinquency it becomes more important that Ali needs to correct his failures of a father.
