Young Guns

Movie Summary

Director:
Christopher Cain
Released:
1988
Rating:
R

Young Guns takes a fresh look at the Old West legend of Billy the Kid. Rancher John Tunstall has an unusual approach to running his New Mexico property. He hires "young guns" for the farm work and dubs them "the Regulators." He also insists on teaching them to read and write. Tunstall saves William Bonney from the hangman's noose, and adds him to the team. The henchman of rival land owner Lawrence Murphy kill Tunstall and the young men decide to dispense some justice. The town's actual lawmen don't take kindly to these upstarts. So William becomes Billy the Kid and leads an outlaw gang of six, including Doc Scurlock, Dick Brewer and Jose Chavez y Chavez.
