Zatoichi: The Blind Swordsman: Fight, Zatoichi, Fight is the eight installment in the Zatoichi movie series. Released in 1964, the movie is set in feudal Japan in the Edo period; a time when Japan had no shortage of wandering samurai, warlords, and thugs. The story follows Zatoichi (Shintaro Katsu), a blind traveling masseur and gambler. But this seemingly harmless man is not what he seems to be. Beneath his soft and friendly exterior, Zatoichi is actually skilled in the art of swordplay and is dedicated to aiding the helpless and oppressed. In Fight, Zatoichi, Fight, Zatoichi's enemies set up an ambush to try to get rid of the blind hero once and for all. Though he survives, an innocent woman is killed in the ambush leaving her child orphaned. Zatoichi blames himself for the tragedy and decides to protect and take care of the infant. In an effort to deliver the infant to the safety of its father, Zatoichi must face many dangers, but an unexpected turn of events makes the hero realize that the child might need protecting from the father himself.moreless
