Zebrahead is a full length movie about an interracial relationship that is met with criticism and hatred in the community. Zack (Michael Rappaport) is a middle class Jewish kid who lives in Detroit and is enamored with black culture. When his best friend Dee's (DeShonn Castle) cousin Nikki (N'Bushe Wright) moves to town from Brooklyn, Zack finds he is quite enamored with her as well. The only problem is that Zack is white and Nikki is black, and their relationship is not endearing itself to everyone else around them, particularly the troublemaking Nut (Rus Johnson). Sparks fly and worlds collide as both young men vie for the affection from Nikki, and a violent end to the courtship is all too much of a possibility. Love and race are center court in director Anthony Drazan's tale, which serves, if not to resolve these issues, to at least put them in your face for an hour and a half.
