Zulu is the 1964 epic war film that depicts the Battle of Rorke's Drift between the British Army and the Zulus in 1879. The British Army's 24th Regiment of Foot is using the Rorke's Drift Station in Natal as a hospital and supply depot. Soliders receive word that a massive horde of Zulus are heading toward the station. After Lieutenant John Chard (Stanley Baker) and Lieutenant Gonville Bromhead (Michael Caine) realize they cannot outrun the Zulus with wounded men, they decide to stay and fortify the station. The soldiers use wagons, biscuit crates and meal bags as a line of defense. As the Zulu close in, a group of Boer soldiers advise Chard that their stance is hopeless and they should consider leaving. Their refusal to abandon the fort is met with a wave of Zulu attacks. After a constant and brutal barrage of spears and gunfire, Chard and his men must fight for survival.
