(I posted this same comment a few months ago, unaware that this site disposes of posts after 30 days, so I'll repost it here. As I said on another forum, I miss TV Tome, which was much more navigable.)
MMTC was not the Citizen Kane of TV sitcoms, but why is at the top of almost every list of the worst TV shows of all time? A few years ago it was the second worst according to TV Guide, saved from the THE worst only by Jerry Springer. And what was the best? Seinfeld, with such exquisite material as Jerry not knowing his girlfriend's name, except that it rhymes with a female body part; George discovering his father doing "the private thing"; and George discovering that his father has breasts, thus Kramer inventing "the Bro-zierre". How jaded tastes have become!
If demographics had been employed in the 1960's, MMTC would have lasted longer than a single season, due to its popularity with children.
