Sam's first customer in the bookshop she has inherited is her old friend Tracy, who invites her to a party to celebrate the completion of her father's latest true-crime book. But no sooner has the party begun than his dead body is found, in a locked room, with a suicide note. And Sam, who has read too many mysteries over the years to be satisfied with the obvious explanation of his death, decides she must become an amateur sleuth to solve a real-life whodunit.
