Natasha Kaplinsky has become one of Britain's best loved and most popular news readers, presenting many of the BBC's news programmes.
She was born on the 9th September 1972 in Brighton, daughter to Raphael Kaplinsky, an economics professor who was exiled from South Africa.
Her early years were spent in Kenya, then when she was 6, her family moved to Barcombe, Sussex, where she later attended Barcombe Comprehensive school.
Continuing her education, she graduated in English at Hertford College, Oxford and began working for the Labour press
… More offices, working alongside the Labour leaders of Neil Kinnock and the late John Smith in the early 1990's.
In 1997, she began her journalism career, anchoring the evening news for the local ITV south network of Meridion Television, later moving on to ITV's London Networks, Carlton Television, where she hosted the London Tonight and London Today news programmes.
November 2000 saw Natasha transcend to national television, co-presenting Live at Five with Jeremy Thompson on the satelite news channel Sky News, as well as their breakfast news programme, Sunrise.
Two years to the month, Natasha moved to the BBC, where she co-hosted the morning news show Breakfast news, where she has remained ever since.
She famously won the first series of the popular television series Strictly Come Dancing with dancing partner/part lover Brendan and went on to co-present the second series in 2004 alongside Bruce Forsyth.
She has also appeared in the sitcom My Hero as a news presenter, as well as guest hosting the satire Have I Got News For You.
On 21st August 2005, Natasha married her fiance, Justin Bower, an economic banker from London.
Natasha now presents the evening news for the BBC.
