An all out shock-fest. hide show

Yep, exactly the reason I keep coming back to this series. You know, aside from Tiva (yay!), and those looks of Gibbs that make my knees slightly suspect. I swear, the man is old enough to be padre to me, but...wow. Silver fox much? I see a pattern if my ridiculous love for Jack O'Neill also suggests something...Anyway,yeah, a really solid episode, with some fantastic twists. I knew there was something shifty about that dude, and his "save the wifey" act. He vos ze evil! Yep, and liked the way they tried to throw us a curveball with the whole "not her daughter" thing. Aw, but did they have to make the little girl totally orphaned?! When she asked for "Mishy" I had a few tears brewing along with Ziva! Some nice Tiva glances though, for us. Act on them dammit! Gotta say, its been a good two parter for those of us that wants them to make nice soon! In a confirmed, not-obtained-by-Mossad-spyage way. And I loved the fact that Gibbs was, as usual, ahead of everyone, throughout the two parter. Abs is right, the only person who could beat Gibbs is well, Gibbs. Nice.

A cloak-and-dagger storyline, Dagger is one of my favourite episodes. I don't have a specific favourite, because it is so hard to choose - they are all so brilliant. Dagger is one of those. hide show

A cloak-and-dagger storyline, Dagger is one of my favourite episodes. I don't have a specific favourite, because it is so hard to choose - they are all so brilliant. Dagger is one of those.

An amazing story, that connects all dots. With every team member facing their own challenge, and unravelling the mystery, the action and excitement never ceases. Agent Lee's death kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire scene, as well as for the rest of the episode. Mixed emotions, though mainly excitement and tension consumed me. The bottom line: I thoroughly enjoyed it. Wow.

Poor Lee! From a sex crazed, mousy lawyer to a traitor who dies! hide show

Second part of the episode was a good conclusion. But I would have wanted a more explosive ending. Gibbs killing Lee was definitely an eye opener. But what option did the writers have? they cant really want to prosecute her. Gibbs, McGee have bent rules for family before so why not her! She is not exactly a marine to have enough guts to face up to her opponent. So I guess her exit as a kinda hero is only way to get this episode closed. They could have given a little more emotion time for Palmer but I guess that would have been an overkill. Overall excellent ending. My condolences to Lee.

I love how its gone on for so long and no body had realized it until they find her guilty of trying to hack into DOMINO, now that was a great episode!

  • TRIVIA: Supposedly Michelle's daughter has been held as a hostage for eight months, but the marks she made with ketchup counting the days only accounts for a little over two months (65 slashes). Either she had been moved before, had another place she was making her slash marks, or she didn't begin counting immediately. []

  • The slight nod that Agent Lee gives to Gibbs just before he shoots her and Bankston is very much like the nod that Harry Lime (Orson Welles) gives Holly Martins (Joseph Cotton) in the classic 1949 film The Third Man. In that film, Martins comes to post-war Vienna to find his friend Harry Lime, only to be told that Lime is dead. He later finds that Lime is alive and involved in a scheme to sell bogus black-market penicillin. Martins gets coerced into cooperating with the military police in trying to capture Lime, and in the climax, finds the wounded Lime trapped in the Vienna sewers. Lime gives Martins a nod indicating that he should shoot him before the police close in, and Martins grants his old friend this one last favor. []
  • Title: Dagger

Combined with the title of the previous episode "Cloak" it forms the adjective "cloak-and-dagger", used to describe an exciting story involving secrecy and mystery, often about spies. []
  • Tony: (seeing Amanda lying on a pressure plate) You ever seen Raiders of the Lost Ark?

The scene of the movie Tony is referring to features Indiana Jones attempting to beat a trap by substituting a bag of sand he believes weighs the same amount as a golden mask which rests on a pressure plate. Unfortunately, he guesses wrong, and has to escape from the temple with all of its defenses activated. []
