Probably, but they would have teamed up unmercifully on Tony--which he would have relished. It could have been interesting to see which he would ultimately pick to romance, however.

If Ziva and Kate were on the same team, Tony would run, not walk for the hills.

And I think Gibbs would be right behind him. That is if he wasn't using Ziva and Kate for target practice.

I don't think so. Kate would have been a bit too by-the-book for Ziva

Both women were very professional. I do not think it would have been a problem.

Can anyone else imagine Kate, Ziva, and Abby in ops at the same time Tony was there? The man would never get any work done.

I don't think it would work.
Kate died, and that was unexpected, but the team have moved on, if Kate hadn't have died, Ari would have never been killed probably, and Ziva and Kate on the same team? I miss Kate, she was a great character, but I like it just being Ziva, McGee, Tony and Gibbs, and Abby and Ducky, I like the show the way it is now, and where it's going.

I think they could have been on the same team. It would have been...interesting, though. I could definitely see them getting into some whoppers during cases because they both would handle things really differently.

I love Kate, it would have been great to see Sasha Alexander in a few more seasons, but oh well. However, I like Ziva also and can definitely appreciate what she has brought to the team, and how they've all grown because of what they've been through.

Silver War. I think Gibbs would be in front of him Nahh, joking
Anyways, I think Ziva and Kate would have a hard time being on the same team, they would probably talk a lot with eachother, but when it comes to work... Just no. Ziva is way more like.. "Get-on-with-the-problem" sorta woman, I think that would make Kate crazy

To be honest, overall, I don't think Kate would have a problem with Ziva's work habits as long as Gibbs didn't. While Kate appreciated doing things 'by the book', she'd worked with Gibbs long enough to appreciate being able to 'think outside the box'. She also hadn't been with NCIS long enough to have the NCIS rules ingrained into her psyche. Watch Ziva intimidate a suspect? No problem. There would probably even be a bit of envy over Ziva's combat skill; not that Kate was that lacking in that department. Just ask McGee.

They both had their strengths and weaknesses. I cannot see Kate standing there and smiling at, and talking with, the coronor, as in 'Agent Afloat'. Particularly with the poster in the background. Kate would have found another way to get the information.

But I still maintain that DiNozzo would not have survived, intatct, with both Ziva and Kate on the same team. His behavior would have given them a reason to unite; and he would be the most likely target. And against a highly trained Mossad agent, and a Secret Service agent who was on the Presidential protection detail? Tony wouldn't stand a chance.

I think if Kate and Ziva had been on one the team together, they would most certainly have had problems with each other (to put it nicely), at least in the beginning. Kate was a really competetive character, with her insistence on "I protected the president". Not that that's bad, but I think she would have felt threatend by Ziva in the beginning, because they are just different. Ziva on the other hand would have taken any sort of challenge and stayed stubborn, at least for some time, just remember the look she gave Abby when she was hostile to her in Silver War (or was it already in Kill Ari?), or how she just ignored that PD-lady in Stakeout.

They would have warmed up towards each other eventually, Kate probaly sooner than Ziva, because they would have seen that each of them is very good at what they do, even though in a different way. And then, you guys are right: Tony and Gibbs would have been in Australia, by the time they teamed up against them.

That's a fairly interesting question. I think that season 1 Kate and Ziva could. There was a different character relationship that seemed to be developing that may have eventually put Kate in a semi-supervisory position, making the eventual addition of Ziva an interesting choice, but along that line the relationship/banter with Tony would change (making Ziva is his primary target.) However Season 2 really took a lot of the bite and importance of Kate away. She was almost a non-entity by the time she was killed off, serving only to provoke and banter with Tony. Ziva became a welcome addition, and Kate's qualities were distributed among the surviving characters in a useful way.

Psychologically speaking, Ziva and Kate could not have co-existed as" sisters." There was not enough differentiation in the two characters by the end of the second and the beginning of the third season. It would have been useless and annoying.

I think it would be very competative at first. Since Kate has spent her time at NCIS as the only female agent and then Ziva comes along and she may feel threatened. But I think both woman would be relieved not to be working in a male environment (eventually and not including Abby or Jenny cuz they aren't in the squadroom or at the scenes often). Tony wouldn't dare make many sexist jokes and I think he'd be torn between who to annoy (which is having a bad day, is it something they'll team up against him with?).Gibbs would struggle (probably flashing back to when he was married...ahh, any one of them). So overall i'd say they'd be competative at first and each trying to work the other one out (Kate's a profiler, Ziva's a lie-detector) and then they'll warm up to each other and yeah...they would eventually co-exist.
    Just my two pennies.

Kate wasn't the ONLY female at NCIS. She was the only one on Gibbs' team, outside of Abby. (and we know that Abby is a rule unto herself, when it comes to Gibbs). She was able to work with Paula Cassidy. And the other women they worked with along the way. Yes, she made some comments about Paula, but they were mainly in response to the way Tony was acting. Ziva and Kate would have co-existed on the same team with minimal friction. They would have had a mutual target for their ire: Tony.

When and if they DO pursue the romance between Tony and Ziva, they should have an episode somewhere in there (similar to the first episode after Kate was killed), where Kate's ghost is running around and interacting with everyone (including Ziva). They could have fun with that (although they wouldn't actually be "working together) especially when the ghost interacts with Tony.

Why would they do something like that? That seems more something for a comedy show, not a crime show (well, not that NCIS doesn't has comedy in it. It's just that when they all 'saw' Kate when she was dead, it had a reason, it wasn't for plain fun)
