From Donald P. Bellisario comes NCIS, a show bringing us the inner workings of the government agency that investigates all crimes involving Navy and Marine Corps personnel, regardless of rank or position. From murder and espionage to terrorism and stolen submarines, these special agents traverse the globe to investigate all crimes with Navy or Marine Corps ties.

Leading this team that operates outside of the military chain of command is Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), a skilled investigator and interrogator who is smart, tough and willing to bend the rules to get the job done. Working under Gibbs is Special Agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly), a former homicide detective who has instincts that can come only from working on the streets.

Joining them is Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette), a gifted forensics specialist whose dark wit matches her goth-style hair and clothes, and Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum), a medical examiner.

Through season one a new character has been introduced -- special agent Tim McGee (Sean Murray, "The Random Years") whose computer skills will be a very big part of the NCIS team.

Special Agent Caitlin "Kate" Todd (Sasha Alexander, "Dawson's Creek"), a former United States Secret Service agent, has brought her intelligence and gutsy personality to the team through first 2 seasons, until during her duty in season two finale, when she was murdered by a terrorist.

In season three, the NCIS team welcomed Mossad Agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), who took Kate's place in the team, and the NCIS team got a new director, Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly). After Holly's departure at the end of Season 5, the position of the NCIS director was taken over by Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll).less «

  When will the script-writers slap Jethro on the back of his head for being so acetic? We are seeing NCIS3 in South Africa now on DStv. Why is it called "Navy NCIS" when that is an obvious duplication? hide « show »

  The script-writers have done a really great job composing absorbing scripts to enthrall viewers. Many times we could give Jethro a fat slap for being so acetic, and when will Tony reveal some more of his hunkiness? Is the relationship between Jethro and Jen going anywhere? We are seeing NCIS3 in South Africa at the moment on DStv but we are getting very tired of The Hallmark Channel calling it "Navy NCIS" when the "Navy" part of it is superfluous, since NCIS stands for "Naval Criminal Investigation Service" or something similar. I hope the makers of this movie will tell The Hallmark Channel to change the name. Otherwise it's an excellent show and we watch it often. However, we are tired of all the repeats. It's like GORD, just worse. When we have seen episodes, we get bored having to see it repeatedly, especially when the channel does this just for advertising revenue!

  One of the greatest shows ever. hide « show »

  This is a such great show that hooked me up from the start. I love all the cast and the script and everything. The characters are so great and cool with all the funny things they are saying. The creator of this show should be so proud of himself for making such a good show. It's one of me favourite shows, that I'm watching every week when it don't have a break, which it have now. I really hope that it will be plenty more seasons with those great actors and the same energy in the script as it got now. One of the greatest shows ever.

  A great show by the creator of JAG hide « show »

  When this series started on JAG, I thought that it was a great successor to an even better tv show. I was wrong - NCIS is the better show. NCIS follows the adventures of Leroy Jethro Gibbs and his team as they solve the crimes of the navy and the marines: Anthony 'Tony' DiNozzo, Timothy McGee, Abby Sciuto, Donald 'Ducky' Mallard, Ziva David, and Jimmy Palmer. A great tv show, unsurpassed by any of its kind. JAG was a great show when it was on, and without NCIS to add to it's legacy, it would have diminished into the memories of long-forgotted classics.

  The absolute BEST forensics program on the air! hide « show »

  I have been a forensics nut since the first programs started showing up on tv. But when NCIS hit the air, I became obsessed. Mark Harmon is superb, and what great writers the show has! The interaction between Tony, Abbey and Jethro keeps me coming back week after week. And Duckey is so cute, I could just pinch his cheeks. I've watched all the reruns on USA and ION Television, and even bought the dvd boxed sets so I can get a Tony/Jethro fix whenever I want to. The show has great comedy, excellent forensics, espionage and wonderful characters. I sure would hate to see ANY one of them leave the progam. Looking forward to the spinoff coming soon.

  NCIS the the ultimate best show ever!!!! hide « show »

  NCIS is action packed filled with exciting drama and comic characters to make the show even more enjoyable, this is not another typical cop show, this is and exciting navel and marine investigation show! Gibbs along with his fantastic team do not just investigate murders off the street, they also bring down the big bad weapons dealers and terrorists. each member of the team has their own story that comes out slowly in every episode with such manner, it makes me want to watch them forever!!! congratulations to all actors, writers, producers and everyone else for putting together such a show that will never be forgotten by those who watch either all or 1 episode!
