New Shows Picked Up
20 Good Years
This new comedy from the cocreator of The Cosby Show follows the adventures of two friends who finally realize that life doesn't last forever. John Lowry and Stanley Friedman are an odd pair to be buddies. They're polar opposites in every way and have a hard time seeing eye to eye. The one thing they can agree on is that they only have 20 good years left to live. In their moment of enlightenment, both men vow to live each day as if it is their last, despite what anyone thinks. It's age meets anarchy, and there will be no regrets. (Source: NBC press release)
30 Rock
Saturday Night Live's own Tina Fey stars as Liz Lemon, head writer of fictional television series The Girly Show. With ratings to win, finicky stars to wrangle, and a new and very difficult boss, Liz finds her hands more than full. Can she keep a grip on all her responsibilities and helm a successful TV show without losing her mind?
Andy Barker, P.I.(to premiere midseason)
Andy Barker is a CPA who has never failed at anything--that is, until his new accounting business doesn't take off as planned. When he's mistaken for the private detective who used to occupy his office, Andy embraces this twist of fate and takes the case. Thus begins his journey back and forth from Andy Barker, CPA to Andy Barker, P.I. Whether chiding criminals headquartered in a warehouse--for renting instead of buying--or briefing an accounting client about municipal bonds while driving backward down an alley while being pursued by Sri Lankan gangsters, Andy will always be a problem solver and a number cruncher. America's Got Talent (to premiere midseason)
Simon Cowell and NBC are scouring the country in search of the most talented person in America.
The Black Donnellys
This drama series concerns the exploits of four young Irish brothers and their involvement in organized crime in New York's notorious Hell's Kitchen neighborhood. The handsome brothers fight for love, yet cannot escape sinking deeper into the criminal underworld in this contemporary story of the Donnellys. (Source: NBC press release)
Friday Night Lights
Friday Night Lights focuses on the high school football program in the small town of Dillon, Texas. This year, the Dillon Panthers are expected to go all the way. That's a lot of pressure for Eric Taylor in his first year as coach. Nevertheless, he's ready and willing to mold these boys into champions and encourage them to be better men. Brought to you by Peter Berg and Brian Grazer, this family drama is all about achievement, heartache, friendship and tough love. (Source: NBC press release)
Heroes
They thought they were like everyone else...until they woke with incredible powers. In Japan, a lowly office worker can teleport at will. In New York, a struggling artist can paint the future. In Los Angeles, a discontented beat cop can hear the thoughts of others. Heroes chronicles the lives of these people, and others like them, whose destinies just might be the saving of humankind...but first they must come to grips with their newfound powers. This original, edge-of-your-seat thriller will make you wonder if there really are heroes among us. (Source: NBC press release)
Kidnapped
Kidnapped is a high-stakes serialized thriller in which the teenage son of a wealthy Upper East Side family (Timothy Hutton, Kinsey, and Emmy winner Dana Delany, China Beach) is kidnapped and everyone is a suspect. The series focuses on the elaborate, interlocking game between the kidnappers, law enforcement, the FBI, and the private negotiating team of the "perhaps" not-so-picture-perfect family. (Source: NBC press release)
Raines(to premiere midseason)
Los Angeles. Present day. Michael Raines, an eccentric but brilliant cop, solves murders in a very unusual way--he turns the victims into his partners. These visions are figments of Raines's imagination, and he knows it, but when he can't make the dead disappear, he works with them to find the killer. He talks to them. He profiles them. And he's only free of them when the case is closed. Other detectives question Raines's sanity. So does he, but he is unable to stop the visions from coming, and a small part of him is glad he can't, because there is one recurring hallucination he can't live without. (Source: NBC press release)
The Singles Table(to premiere midseason)
They say the best place to meet someone is at a wedding. That couldn't be truer for Stephanie, Ivan, Eli, Adam, and Georgia. Because of their single status--and a tenuous relationship with the bride and groom--they are all seated at Table 18, in a far corner of the wedding hall, next to the kitchen. Through the course of the reception, each person questions his or her life and vows to make a better go at it. It's more than a bonding experience. For richer or poorer, these five kindred spirits will grow to become friends and, in some cases, lovers. (Source: NBC press release)

“What I Like About You†isn’t coming back? Wow, really disappointed. That show was definitely my favorite and now it's only a repeat at like 3 o'clock on this new cw thing. I'm sorry one of the two companies didn’t have enough money to support itself, or one of the companies wasn't getting good enough ratings but cutting shows like “What I Like About You†is beyond ridiculous. The only time I ever plan on watching this newly merged channel is when the repeats are on because the show is that amazing and I hate the fact that there will no longer be any new episodes and to watch my second favorite show “One Tree Hill.†The only positive thing I have to say is, you were very smart to keep that.moreless
I too would like to know the exact date when the new season starts for "Medium" I keep hearing rumors it has canceled. What is the truth? I do not want to miss it. I love the show and look forward to watching it every week.
i was wondering if the Monique's (the parkers, soul plane...) new show will premiere on this channel. the show is supposed to be called 'mo's house' and i just want it to come true. maybe it may come asa midseason slot? please someone, any just write to me by leaving a comment or something.please...
Supernatural is the BEST show on tv. I'm glad One Tree Hill is going on to but I'm am so ecstatic about Supernatural second season. It rocks and Jared Padalecki is the hottest man alive. I love Jensen Ackles too. I love the CW for continuing Supernatural. They are very smart!
OMG I didnt know Malcolm in the Middle was cancelled! I do believe a little part of me just died. :`( And what about beloved Charmed. So many wonderful shows, gone. WHHHHYYY?!
crossing jordan is the best TV SHOW in this world!!!!!!!
urggggg! sooooo mad they canceled "Heist", I guess NBC has to make room for Crappy shows like "Deal or no Deal" and "Americas got Talent". the only saving grace this fall is "Heroes", hopefully that dosen't get canceled to.
I'm happy all of the shows that I watch and like will remain on during the times I thought they were going to be on.:)
What about Miracle Workers?
I still can't believe they cancelled Freddy he says sarcasticly
So where is Medium in the new schedule? It doesn't say 'to return midseason' next to it on the list of renewed shows...??? New shows - looking forward to Heroes, Jericho and Justice... =) And why isn't there any info on the networks like Sci-fi, USA, FX or Showtime??
Bring back Related!!!
Bring back Related!!!
Shark and Smith look great...
We're afraid to watch new shows on NBC - they'll likely get cancelled!
I really love the show one one one right when it got good you guys canclled it it will never be the same

You have Medium listed as being renewed, but I don't see it on the actual schedule. What night will Medium be on in the fall and what time?
I only care bout Earl and Last Comic!, but Ill watch Andy Barker and 30 Rock.
Oh yeah does anyone else agree that besides a few shows on NBC such as Will and Grace(which is ended now), ER, Scrubs and Law and Order that it has really gone downhill. I mean ever since Friends left they really haven't been able to hit on any new good show at least not ones that hold my interest. Even Joey was a huge disappointment for me who is a huge fan of Friends.
I am so happy that Gilmore, One Tree and Smallville are back. Also I have been a loyal 7th Heaven fan since it started and I am glad they picked it up again because the finale was not a very good send off for a show that's been on for 10 years. I'm sooo bummed that Related didn't make the cut while so many other crappy shows did. I won't mention specific shows because I choose not to upset people who like these particular shows. Plus ER is back which didn't come as a shock since that show has me plus 12.5 million other people so enthralled even after all this time. LONG LIVE ER!!!
Oh yeah- Goodbye Alias.
What is wrong with ABC? It was my favorite network this past season and now I am so upset with all the shows they are cancelling to bring in these new ones. I am especially upset about Invasion! That show was great! And it ended with a cliff-hanger- how can that not be resolved for us? ABC should have at least stuck with Invasion-it had its fans and more would have caught on. VERY UPSET!!!!
Looks like there is nothing good but Thursday night for me (excluding Deal or No Deal- one show I did not join the bandwagon on). I'll have to check out some new shows to find some more things to watch- but I am very upset about the cancellation of Conviction, Surface and Teachers and the ending of Will and Grace. NBC is losing (and getting rid of) the good stuff. I won't complain completely because I love The Office and am very happy its still here- hopefully it will continue on for a while too.
Looking forward to a new season!!!
Random Thoughts: Great to see House, Amazing Race, CSI's, Law and Order's, Criminal Minds, Smallville, Supernatural, 2 and 1/2 men, king of queens and numb3rs, amazing shows. All WB shows are SO terrible except Smallville, Supernatural and Reba. In Justice should be renewed in place of Brian. Book of Daniel may have been the worst show EVER on Tv with the Adventures of Christine close second place. 7th heaven is dead and gone for me while the War at home is hilarious, just give it a chance
What the heck is Without A Trace doing on Sunday night? I loved my Thursday night lineup. Thank God they picked up Criminal Minds again. I love Thomas Gibson, and also quirky Matthew Gubler.
E-Ring should of been included. What was NBC thinking. No wonder why they are losing viewers. And also to put Law and Order on Friday at 9pm is a slap in the face. As far as Iam concern if it wasn't for Law and Order then NBC would not exist today. They should be kissing there butt to give them the best time slot. Don't worry Law and Order your devotee's will follow you.
I am so feakin glad that one tree hill got signed. Therewas tl that it wouldn't which would be a travest as the last season wa absolutely amazing. I can only hope it will stay this good. LOST, FAMILY GUY AND SCRUBS RULE
I agree with SalfromCanada about Scrubs.
Nice. Have been waiting on this list. Thanks alot.
Do you guys have dogtythe bountyhunter on i am a big fan of theres. you have all the other shows around. how come not dog the bounty hunter thanks diane kunz

What about Medium? When is that going to be shown?
What about Syndicated and lesser network shows? Shows such as SciFi's Stargate SG1/Atlantis, or USA Network's The Dead Zone? Perhaps an additional column could have been designated 'Other' for the multitude of quality shows from the smaller or specialty networks.
Jericho does look good. I watched the clips here on tv.com and I am hooked! Then i saw the video promo at http://www.cbs.com/primetime/upfront_2006/jericho.shtml

And it sealed the deal. I know where I am going to be Wed. night at 8pm
Alot of shows got canned because of the WB/UPN merger, but that would obviosly happen. Good to see Supernatural is returning, and Runaway might be good.
Farewell Malcolm In The Middle. House of course returns. As well as Prison Break. And their new show Vanished could be great.
No surprise CBS cancelled Thresold. It's been a brutal year for new sci-fi shows. Hopefully Sci-fi Channel will pick up the unaired episodes. On to CBS's new shows, Creature Comforts and Jericho look interesting.
They cancelled Invasion!!! That show was getting better by the week. That is a bone-headed move by ABC.

As for the new shows (Greg Behrendt's Wake-Up Call, In Case Of Emergency, The Nine, Six Degrees, and Traveler), ABC has some definite potentially really good shows coming in.
How can the CW put Supernatural up against both CSI and Grey's Anatomy.
Friday Night Lights, Heroes, and Raines sound like they could be good shows. I'm glad My Name Is Earl, The Office, and Scrubs are returning. I liked Surface, even though it was a bit strange, and I'll be sad to see it go away.
I cannot believe that HEIST, the best cop show in years, has been cancelled! Ridiculous scheduling meant that it was up against established heavyweights such as Lost and American Idol. Combine excellent scripting, hot chicks, and a well-cast crew, and you get HEIST - this REALLY deserves another chance, especially as many season finales are screening this week! Networks, put this back on TV and watch your ratings rocket!!PLEASE! PLEASE! DO IT NOW! (Or you could sell it to an English Network. That works equally well!)

These networks also need to get with the 21st Century, I think ABC is getting it now, and realize just because this out of date Nielson system crap does not show everyone watching one particular show at a particular time does not mean no one is watching. With Tivo, and dual tuners common now, not to mention d/ling torrents of all the shows it's time to adjust the way programming is done with broadcast tv.

I never started D/L'ing shows until a couple years ago I missed recording a show because they switched the damn night again, and D/Ling it was the best way to see what I missed.
All these networks are screwed up, they are constantly jerking around the best shows to try to win a demographic, when they should just be happy when they have a great show and people are watching. Stop hiding them, and moving them around where people just give up trying to watch. and OMFG the repeats!! Stop repeating shows that have a audience that religiously watches them, if they want they should just run the season twice if they want to catch people up. Lost is a perfect example of that. All of them should follow Fox's model with 24, and run the shows in order and back to back.

Shows I think they jerk around way too much.
Scrubs, Commander in Chief, Lost, The OC, Crossing Jordan, Las Vegas (Fridays setting up for disaster) Smallville, King of Queens, Not to mention cable shows like Dead Zone, Nip/Tuck.moreless
Secrets of a Small town got pick up or not
and is tyler christopher is leaving gh
is the best actor on the show
I think that it is great that 7th Heaven is coming back, but it also sucks that Charmed isn't. And neither is Living With Fran. Both were great shows, but all in all Charmed was and will always be my favorite WB show. I wish that they would bring the girls back. They hired Kaley Cucco just to air in one season, that isn't a job, that is a job gone bad. I also noticed that Charmed doesn't have any reruns airing on the WB. Why is it being called the CW? Please tell me.
There are way too many great shows getting the boot this year. Invasion and Surface were not given enough time to see how great they would become and I was very happy with them both. Invasion being my favorite. Also there is Charmed, and my mom was none too happy to see Everwood go. I am happy the way they ended Charmed though, they did a great job ending it even though I'm sad to see it go. I also hear that Gilmore Girls may get the boot. That would not be right esp with the way they ended it this time. Please people don't leave us fans hanging on that one wondering what will happen. I'm already sick enough with Invasion getting the boot. I guess I'll just have to imagine what might have been. I'm so sick over Invasion I refuse to even watch ABC again. Invasion, Surface, Gilmore Girls, and Everwood should not be cancelled! If all the networks continue to keep pulling all the great shows I think I'll just skip tv all together and just rent movies.moreless
Invasion cancelled!
I cannot for the life of me understand why.Invasion was the best show that ABC ever had. There was nothing bad about Invasion. Everything from the plot to the actors was excellent. It turns my stomach so that I may never watch ABC ever again.
