The Dixie Chicks were the belles of the ball at the 49th annual Grammy Awards, where they took home a coveted statue for each of the five categories for which they were nominated. The twangy trio shut out the competition in the three major categories of album, record, and song of the year--and looked great doing it.
Other big winners included Mary J. Blige, Carrie Underwood, and Ludacris...and we think it's no coincidence that these artists were among the evening's best dressed. Of course, musical talent and fashion sense don't always go hand in hand, as evidenced by acts like the Red Hot Chili Peppers and John Mayer. We'll forgive the Chilis for just about any fashion faux pas, but weird Mr. Mayer gets no second chances here. Sorry, dude...your body is no wonderland.
OK Go, who picked up the award for Best Short Form Music Video, were the fashion vanguards of the evening in a group outfit for the ages: matching suits, hats, and gloves in a fabric reminiscent of your grandmother's wallpaper, stylish black shoes, and opaque red face masks.
