I read a book about a guy that goes to Hollywood to try and blag a writing job. His rubbish idea is about a comedy set in a car - I can not believe they are now making it! The Carpoolers!

Come on people, if you read Grey's anatomy or House summary 3 years ago you would say "another medical show". Or Ugly Betty last year. The list goes on. Summaries say nothing. What matters is how they do it.

I for once I'm excited about some of these cause I'm tired of some old ones.

Heres my 2cents on the CW line up

Sunday night: make it fresh with new dramas. Lead in with wild at heart, then the untitled maggie friedman project (which could be the CW's charmed), and close the night with Hidden Palms

Monday night: comedy night!! Everybody hates chris, then hell on earth. THEN air ANTM to attrace the female demo, and after that air the game and M.I.L.F

Tuesday night: Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl, and close with I am Paige Armstrong. All shows which in one way or another empower women. Make tuesday nights all about Girly Nights!

Wednesday night: TEEN DRAMAS...One Tree Hill, The world According to Barned and Veronica Mars - suitable for both male and female audiences AND the final 2 shows are also crime related

Thursday nights: are all about the wierd and supernatural. Lead in with REAPER (if it doesnt do well there always SMALLVILLE afterwards) and close the night with Supernatural

(as you have noticed, i wouldnt stop airing at 9/8c but also air a new show at 10/9c....makes sense!!) to me anyway!

hope you like - let me know what you think!! :)

I tried imagine how could the CW's schedule look like, if they cancel 7th Heaven, Veronica Mars (this shows I'm sure will be canceled)and the old Girlfriends and boring All of Us (that I want to be canceled). GOD the comedy pilots of the CW rock!!! And I also want to see the Wild at Heart and Reaper!!! So if the CW want to know how to build a great schedule here's mine example:

sunday

8:00/7:00c One Tree Hill (season5)

9:00/8:00c Supernatural (season3)

monday

8:00/7:00c Everybody Hates Chris (season3)

8:30/7:30c M.I.L.F. and Cookies (season1)

9:00/8:00c Eight Days a Week (season1)

9:30/8:30c The Game (season2)

tuesday

8:00/7:00c Gilmore Girls (season8)

9:00/8:00c Wild at Heart (season1)

wednesday

8:00/7:00c America’s Next Topmodel (cycle9)

9:00/8:00c Hidden Palms (season2)

thursday

8:00/7:00c Smallville (season7)

9:00/8:00c Reaper (season1)

friday

8:00/7:00c Friday Night Smackdown! (---)

Oh please God say The Big Bang Theory doesn't get picked up just for the fact that can't-act Kaley Cuoco (Charmed destroyer) is in it. How did she get a role on a pilot anyway? Bribes?

The only one that I voted as a "Might See" was The News from ABC. And that's the best vote I gave any of these listed shows. It just seems to repetitive. I haven't even seen the other channels. I don't know if I want to....

Ohhh come on, stop creating new shows with lawyers, detectives (with supra magical power) crime scenes or medical staff. How creative and original it is.

Hi guys,

You are all WAY too early to judge what will be crap and what will not be. These descriptions are not very informative and aren't even good loglines. I'm working on one of those pilots, not going to list which one, but there is a lot more to it than what is described. These summaries are based off random publications - which came up with these descriptions on their own. Trust me, your right, there will be a lot of crap, but do me a favor and wait until you can find out more information about each one before signing off on it. You might be surprised.

I started casting my votes and then stopped when I realized how stupid it was to judge a show based on a postcard description of the concept. I'd never watch a show about 'nothing' (Seinfeld), a show about a believer and skeptic chasing down the unexplained (X-Files) or a show about forensic lab work (CSI). A good show comes down to casting and writing plus some luck. I'll wait for the pilots on the internet to see what is worth a second look.

Why would you cancel Heroes and Ugly Betty? Both the show is extraordinary good and exciting. Ugly Betty is pure fun and drama, whilst Heroes is exciting and action filled.

The good show on the pilot list would be Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

With so many new shows, there's got to be a lot cancelled.

Hope these shows get cancelled!

How I met Your Mother

Black Donnellys (just cancelled)

Men in Trees

Dancing with the stars

The New Adventures of Old Christine

Heroes

Friday Night Lights

Jerico

Ugly Betty

Are you smarter than a 5th grader?

Brothers and Sisters

What's your wishlist for shows getting cancelled?

There are some that I will give the benefit of the doubt and watch maybe once to see if they live up to expectation.

Canterbury's Law... title is somewhat reminiscent of Grey's Anatomy, no? Which isn't to say that the premise won't work.

a tv spin off of Mr. and Mrs Smith? Come on! I dont think so....

the movie itself wasnt that great.
Reply
Flag
Wow. So much trash to sort through . . .
Reply

Only shows that look remotely interesting are Mr & Mrs Smith, Pushing Daisies and Them. The rest will be kept for desperate viewing; these three might even end up on that list - only time will tell
Reply

The Caveman show doesn't sound like it'll be any good...

Are you guys at tv.com just making this stuff up? I can't believe even half of these are real ideas that someone spent money on to film an actual show.

famkefan 'the shore /blake project' when does this series hit the UK. (lol) LUIS NELSON is hot!

the shore /blake project

STORYLINE: LUIS NELSON, a young homicide Detective, gets teamed up with a new partner,

the more experienced Detective CHRISTIE WINTERS. Winters is brilliant but difficult and has seen her last three partners quit on her. Nelson and Winters immediately clash. They must decide whether to continue working together while they investigate a series of murders involving partners in a small business.

[DETECTIVE CHRISTIE WINTERS] Winters is brilliant (she was once the youngest detective in the history of the LAPD’s prestigious Robbery-Homicide Division) and a

genius at reading and manipulating people. She’s also prickly, sarcastic, and difficult to connect with. She had a tough childhood, which made her a pessimist; she believes everyone’s dirty: half the people who get murdered probably deserved it; half the people in jail for murder probably had a good excuse. She’s beautiful, dresses well, and is constantly asked out on dates which tend to go badly, as Winters always finds something in the men to pick apart. Winters is under investigation by Internal Affairs, who suspect her of stealing money from dope dealers. SERIES REGULAR. ALL SHOWS PRODUCED.[DETECTIVE LUIS NELSON] Male, late 20s to early 30s. Luis grew up poor, with a single mom, in LA. A personal tragedy in his family pushed him towards becoming a cop. He’s a religious Catholic who believes murder so offends God that He will do whatever he can to help the police solve cases. Luis is smart, extremely honest, and believes that people are generally good. He wants to do the right thing; the honest thing; he’s smart enough to realize those aren’t always possible. He’s hard-working and very smart, which is why he’s been elevated to Robbery- Homicide at such a young age. SERIES REGULAR. ALL SHOWS PRODUCED.

[LIEUTENANT ADAM MOLNAR] 45 to late 50s. Molnar is Winters’ and Nelson’s boss. Like almost everyone else in the Department, Molnar isn’t crazy about Winters. He’d get rid of her, except he knows she’s the best Detective in Robbery-Homicide. He can’t stand the way Winters jerks him around, but as long as she closes cases, he’ll warily tolerate her. SERIES REGULAR. ALL SHOWS PRODUCED.

[SARAH MURPHY] Female, early to late 30s. Winters’ younger sister, Sarah is her sister’s confidante and best friend. Sarah’s the only person to stand up to Winters; the only person Winters really listens to. Sarah made different choices in life; she’s got two young kids and is happily married to a man she knows isn’t perfect; she’s willing to accept imperfection in a way Winters cannot. Sarah’s a psychiatrist and sometimes gives advice to Winters about her cases. SERIES REGULAR. ALL SHOWS PRODUCED.

[RAYMOND BEAN] Late 30s to late 50s. An experienced Internal Affairs investigator, Bean approaches Nelson about Winters. Bean has been investigating Winters for years for corruption (stealing cash from dope dealers she busted). Bean shares a lot of qualities with Winters: he’s dogged (so much so he’ll tail Nelson for hours from headquarters) and smart, good at reading and manipulating people. SERIES REGULAR, 7 OUT OF 13 EPISODES.

[GENEVIEVE EGAN] Female, mid 20s to mid 30s. Genevieve is Nelson’s girlfriend of a year or so. She loves him but is tough on him; she knows his flaws and is not above pointing them out.

I see nothing I love from ABC. Man, they had better not trash good shows like Traveler for THESE pieces of junk.

I said previously that "All Fall Down" was in my Top 10 Most Promising Pilots list and now that I hear Alyssa Milano is going to star in it I'm even more excited about it. She is a grat actress who can do both comedy and drama so she's a good pick for the role.

What's with all these British shows being remade? It's as if the networks have no faith in people getting the original. Besides the obvious remakes, every single idea seems to be recycled at least a few times. 'A private eye vampire with issues'?? Yeah, since it's been like three years since Angel ended, I bet people will see that as an original idea...

*disappointed*

I only really like Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. Although, Are you smarter than a 5th grader could be good for laughs
Reply
Flag
wow! a lot of crap... only thing that caught my eye were a few of the supernatural shows of the witch one and the one of the immortal vampire *cough*ANGEL RIP OFF*cough* and the Mr. and Mrs. Smith one. Besides that a lot of crap. Lot of subarn famalies??? CRAP and i found a few shows that are totally ripping off other shows like Gilmore Girls, The OC, and Supernatural!

The only decent series seem to be based on British shows. And stop me if I think that some of these shows sound like old show almost verbatim.

Last season only had two breakout hits in Heroes and Ugly Betty. I cannot see how they can improve on that low with this lot.
Reply
Flag
Ok they simply must be running out of ideas. And I have to comment on this: Babylon Fields? Zombies come back and try to get there lives back like they where, this HAS to be some kind of joke right?
Reply
Flag
*sigh*

What's with all the remakes and rip-offs?

Well, I'm excited for The Thick of It and Pushing Daisies. Good to see Mitch Hurwitz and Bryan Fuller return to television.

Honestly, not a single one of these shows truly looked appealing based on the short descriptions. It will take some more information to figure out which ones will be worth watching.
Reply

Maybe the two shows of Schwarzt and the one of Bob Cochran, not a whole lot interesting shows as far as i can see, they shouldn't have canceld so much :(

Not a whole lot of interesting programs here.

the cw is the fusion of warner channel with some other channel i cant recall now...
Reply
Flag
i cant wait for the remake of Life On Mars... the uk show was great... the season 2 started this february 13.
Reply
Flag
I live in the UK so half of these being re-makes of British shows is rather funny; over here we just buy US shows not waste time trying to re-make them when they would most likely bomb.

The others all look so similar to one another, there must be about 20 legal based ones for a start. Nothing at all stands out for me, so far this looks like a awful year for new shows.

Flag
The News looks kinda interesting.
Reply
Flag
How many remakes? Life on Mars, I'm with Stupid, Kath and Kim, The IT Crowd, Vicar of Dibley the list goes on and on!
Reply
Flag
Doesn't really look like that many new show will interest me. Maybe a couple of the supernatural ones. There were just a lot of cop/lawyer dramas and chick flicks(and I am a girl) that don't hold my interest. *Fingers crossed that shows I already watch will return*
Reply
Flag
While there are large numbers of shows to choose from here, most of them sound just like each other or things that really don't interest me in the least. So out of all the "available choices" only a few are worth trying in my opinion. As for the comments on Twilight it sounds a lot more like Forever Night than Angel since he's a cop.
Reply
Flag
I made a list of the ones I'd at least try and see if I like and it came to 35. But only about 8 of them look really really interesting. God I hope I don't end up liking all 35(doubtful). There isn't enough time in the week for all the tv I watch.

I think Life On Mars (excellent British show), The Sarah Conner Chronicles (if its well made)and a few other sound cool. The problem is as everyone is saying: Too much of the same crap that is already all over the airways. Plus, If anything is good on FOX or CW they cancel before its got a chance to shine. HBO is the same way. Deadwood, Rome, Carnivale. All excellent all dead!

David Duchovny's show sounds interesting.
